Inspired by sunlit days on the Mediterranean, this luxurious vanilla bean tea is made to be served cold, 'on the rocks,' with large cubes of ice, like a fine spirit. Featuring notes of caramel, honey, and butterscotch, this blend will transport you to a lush escape with the sound of clinking glasses at sunset and the waves lapping against the cliffs below.

If steeped longer than 1 minute, you'll savor the complexity that emerges and can drink this like a fine bourbon. Let each sip linger on the palate to reveal dark fruit, dried dates and luscious macerated figs accompanied by a hint of toasted oak and soft cream with a bold structure wrought by the Taiwanese dark pearl oolong and Rwandan black Rukeri estate tea blooming alongside a rare Thai Jinxuan oolong. When served on the rocks, this tea is designed to be bold and will retain its divine flavors even as the ice melts.

Play and experiment with brewing times, and read on for our 'On the Rocks' brewing guide.

The Silk Tea Brewing Ritual for this blend

For a delicious cup of our On the Rocks tea, shake up the bag and scoop one teaspoon into your tea filter of choice. Boil water to 180ºF / 85ºC and gently pour over the tea. There are many ways to steep this premium blend:

  • To enjoy at any temperature: Quickly steep for just 30-40 seconds
  • To enjoy with milk and/or sugar: Steep for 2 minutes.
  • To make a bold drink with ice: Steep no more than 3-4 minutes. Elevate with milk, sugar, or a little splash of somethin' else. Serve this one on the rocks.
  • To make a cold brew: We highly recommend an overnight steep for the most delicious cold brew! Use a ratio of one heaping teaspoonful (2.5 grams) for one 12 oz / 350 ml pouring of fresh, cold water over the tea blend. We recommend an infusion pitcher like our Eternal Summer Tea Set. You can also use a water bottle or a mason jar with a top. Blend the tea with the cold water and refrigerate for a minimum of 12 hours. Stir or shake and then strain to serve. Enjoy the smoothest and most crave-worthy cold brew tea of your life.

As always with The Silk Tea Co, this tea is good for re-steeping and will unfurl different flavors over a few refill pours of water. Each spoonful of this On the Rocks whole leaf tea blend can yield 3-5 cups of delicious tea.
